Contemporary new house, Port Adriano, Mallorca

Our clients had fallen in love with the uninterrupted sea views from this cliff-top site when they bought the house.

The new house is an essay in classic stainless steel, glass and white painted render. With the street at the front and the sea and cliff at the rear, the organisation of rooms and spaces is cleverly unconventional to make the most of the relatively small building footprint whilst maximising contact between the living spaces and the sea views.

To achieve this, we turned the house on its side and located the four bedrooms on the street side of the house, with two at ground level and two on the first floor. These rooms all have mountain views. The rear half of the house is dedicated entirely to open plan living space arranged on two floors around a double height space over the sitting area. This space is filled with light and a reflected blue from the sea.
